SOUL SISTERS

A Bible study group called Soul Sisters was created for women whose mission is to establish a love relationship with Jesus Christ through study and service.  These fellowship and study gatherings enhance our God-given purpose as we build personal relationships and share joyful support with one another.  Our monthly meetings, the second Monday of each month from 10-11:45 a.m., include a variety of Bible study series with curriculum support that are lay lead often with vibrant discussions.

Along with Bible study, we celebrate the opportunity to enhance the lives of young women in Tanzania.  We sponsor through prayer and financial support several secondary school girls through Operation Bootstrap Africa.  In addition, we are able to communicate with each of these students through letter writing and opportunities to travel to Tanzania to meet them.  These young women have escaped the potential of being married off by their fathers at ages as young as 14 in exchange for cows.  They not only excel in a school of 380 girls, but most graduate and go on to continued educational offerings and enter careers that help shape new perspectives about the roles of women in Tanzanian society.

If you would like to learn more about Soul Sisters, we welcome new members and guests.  For further information please contact Jeanie Geurink jgeurink@uwec.edu or (608) 838-8187.
