Musical Festival Services
Several times a year, FLC host unique musical services which add a
different flair to the worship experience.
Bluegrass Guitar Service
Guitars, fiddles, banjos, mandolins and tamborines combine to lead a worship service full of old-time favorite hymns and Gospel tunes with a special twist. FLC offers guitar services at least four times during the year.
Dixieland
One of the “new” traditions at First Lutheran is the Dixieland Worship Service. Dixieland, the earliest style of Jazz music, was developed in New Orleans. The definitive Dixieland sound is created instruments improvise around that melody when one instrument (usually the trumpet) plays the melody or a recognizable paraphrase of it, and the other .
Polka Service
“Zing, Boom, Terraral” Come and enjoy this summer favorite! Both worship services will be filled with tapping toes and “oom-pa-pas” galore!
Choir Festivals
Spring and Christmas Choir Festival Services are part of FLC’s worship experience, too.
The Spring Choir Festival continues the Easter celebration. There anthems by the Senior Vocal Choir and Alleluia Bells.
During the Christmas Choir Festival, the Alleluia Bell Choir and the Senior Vocal Choir present seasonal anthems in addition to leading the congregation in singing Christmas carols and the “Hallelujah Chorus.”
