Music at FLC

Music is very important at First Lutheran Church! The congregation offers a variety of options for people to express their faith musically. The musical groups rehearse regularly and enhance worship services throughout the school year. Soloist, ensembles and guest musicians usually offer anthems during the summer months.

First Kids and Openings

  • Openings are 15 minutes of group singing for all students at the beginning of the 8:30 and 10:00 First Kids Sunday School times

  • Children occasionally sing for the congregation on Sundays.

  • Any questions regarding Christian Education go to Pastor Sara.


FLC Choir

  • For adults

  • Practices are usually at 7:30 pm on Wednesdays in the Vocal Choir Room

  • The FLC Choir offers anthems and helps lead the 8:30 am service throughout the school year

  • Mary Nelson is the Director

Alleluia Bells

  • For adults and high school students

  • Practices are usually at 6:30 pm on Wednesdays in the Bell Choir Room

  • The Alleluia Bells usually ring at the 8:30 service on the second Sunday of the month and at the 10:00 service on the fourth Sunday of the month

  • Mary Nelson is the Director


Celebration Service Music Group

  • The band includes vocalists, electric bass, guitar, piano and percussion

  • They practice at 6:00 pm on Thursday nights in the Sanctuary

  • The group leads the 10:00 worship service

  • Mary Nelson is the Director

  • Opportunities for soloists and groups are available in the summer and for festival worship during the school year

Great Musicians

  • Throughout the year and especially in summer, First Lutheran often sponsor groups to accompany worship and offer anthems
